How To Get Top Ranking In Google
Posted on February 02, 2009 by admin
Is there a secret recipe for dominating the search engines?
It seems like being number one in Google is literally the one million dollar question. It is understandable why a top ranking is so desirable. Studies show that it is not enough to just be on the first page of the search results. The number one listing will get approximately per cent of the clicks while number two only gets around 8 per cent. This means that the number one ranking site will get more than twice the traffic than number two.
Yes, it does make a huge difference if you are number one or number two.
Products such as Google Annihilation have been promising to achieve the goal of getting your site to number 1 and get you insane amounts of traffic.
The question is: Can these products keep their promises? Is it really so easy to dominate the search engines so you just have to launch a piece of software and traffic will start to flow?
The answer is yes and no. What these products will do is basically build links for you. Links are what is most relevant for how well you rank for a certain keyword. So what these link building tools do is building links to the website you want to rank for using the exact keywords as an anchor text. This is basically a vote for this page with respect to that keyword.
It is possible to get up in the top rankings pretty fast, but the problem is staying there. If a site gets 500 links within 2 weeks then Google will rank it – because popular sites get many links very fast. But Google also sets its expectations higher. They figure if you get that many links so fast you should continue to get many links in the future. Sounds logical right? If you stop getting new links then Google assumes your site just isn’t that popular any more.
So no matter how many links you want to buid make sure you keep getting new links to maintain your rankings.

I’ve gotten to where I focus more on MSN and Yahoo… those 2 LOVE links.. Seems like if you go that route and write good content.. the big G will follow suite!
I’ve had a couple of sited de-indexed by google.. one was nothing BUT content! Good content… ha! I’m sure others may disagree with what i’m saying but that’s how i’m going about it.. The site that got dropped by G is doing well @ yahoo and msn!
Good info in this post!

The one way that I have seen these sites achieve this promise ” We will make your site #1 in Google” is by making your site number one for some obscure key words or phrases. Key words that no one ever types in for a search term.

Informative article. Google gives lot of attention to back links, but sometimes it is really difficult to get them, especially if your site is a newbie.

It makes some sense that they’d expect your blog to continue progressing. There probably quite a few factors that Google keeps secret to prevent people from trying to game their system

Building backlinks with steady pace is important. Building too many does not do any good. Let me tell you my blog has nearly 1000 backlink but still it is well placed for few words also I got a page rank of 2. Building quality links is more important.
Let me tell you it is easy to get top ranking in Google than most people think. There are some little secrets to it. The min time required to be indexed by Google is 24 hrs and not 1 week like may would tell.
When started my blog. It got indexed with in 3-4 days. But the most important thing is to maintain the position. Your website has to be real good with good contents to maintain your rank.

Backlinks are important, which ever language your blog uses doesn’t matter. French backlinks will be helpful when people search in french.

Ok thank you very much! there are more blogs and websites about making money online in english than in french so it’s a good think for me
90% of french websites about this just make a list of affiliation links and talk about those PTR, PTC, PIS.. websites but doesn’t give advises and articles like here.
i realy like your blog and i wich you good luck
