On Page Search Engine Optimization
Posted on December 20, 2008 by admin
There are a plethora of approaches to send visitors to your Internet site. You can purchase it by buying ads; you can create your visitors using social networking sites; you can develop a mailing list, or leverage off other web-business email lists; or you can derive visitors from organic search engine listings by using search engine optimization, known as SEO. This article will go into detail about the latter technique, which will delve into two elements to consider when applying search engine optimisation to to your website and writings.
The Search Engines Adore Theme Relevancy
Whatever content you write for a webpage, conduct some preliminary keyword research to seek out a variety of related keywords that relate to that market. For instance, if you were writing some content relevant to the psychology of winning, you should sprinkle your content with other associated and relevant words such as ‘self esteem’, ‘law of attraction’, and ‘career success’. It’s assumed that the search engines can observe the time a person remains on a webpage before they click away to another one, and the longer the period they stay, the more likely it is seen that a site must be of value and relevance to what the user was seeking, and hence the greater the likelihood the search engines will increase the ranking of your page. So it’s best to make your content helpful and relevant for this end.
This will also boost the chance that readers will bookmark your website to their favourites folder, leading not only to return visits, but to greater credibility with the search engines.
The Importance of Meta-Tags
Another element with search engine optimization is to ensure that you make the optimum use possible of the meta-tags on each of your webpages. The most important ones are the Description Tag and the Title Tag. The Description tag is what appears underneath the title in the search engine result lisitings, and the Title Tag is the blue underlined text link that appears above the description. The title tag should not be greater than 60 characters in length, including spaces, and the Description tag should never go longer than one hundred and forty characters.
Take the Peel Away Ads site for example. If you Google the term “peel away ads” you will see its title tag display as: “Peel Away Ads with Awesome Bonuses – $17″, and the description tag is: “Peel Away Ads is the perfect solution to grab the attention of your website’s visitors. This Peel Ads package includes 7 software programs for a total …” You will see that the description tag has been cut off after the first 150 characters. The same will occur with a title tag when it is longer than sixty five characters.
What you say in Description and Title tags are not only important for ranking for the key terms that you are going after, but also what you write within them will have a very great bearing on whether visitors click to visit your website or not.

What you’ve said about the search engines can observe the time a person remains on a webpage and that helps your page ranking somehow is interesting and true. It does have artificial intelligence built in. Thanks for sharing and visiting my blog. Keep in touch.

I strongly recommend that you turn the No Follow off in your comment section. I’ll watch Google Webmaster Tools, and if the links don’t show up after a couple of weeks — I won’t go back to that blog again. Another suggestion: you should have a Top Commentator widget installed. Do Follow and Top Commentator will ensure that you have a successful blog with lots of readers!
